About my process

I began to make these assemblage sculptures in 2011.

Prior to this, I had used my small clay figures as solely catalysts for my paintings- never to be seen.

In 2011, I started to pay attention to the possibility of a new language for my studio practice. I began to collect certain recycled material and friends gifted materials to me.

I then found a usable language thru assemblage, and started to forage in nature and dollar stores.  I am interested in balancing the natural world (wood, clay, shells, pine needles, lint) with these man-made objects (toothpicks, plumbing, paper clips, thread, string, rubber).

I continue to focus on transforming and reconciling natural and manmade materials.
