About my process
FINDINGTHE BALANCE
BETWEEN
FORAGED MATERIALS
AND
MANMADE OBJECTS
In 2011, I started to pay attention to the possibility of a new language for my studio practice. I began experimenting and found a usable language thru assemblage sculpture. I began to forage in nature, collect recycled materials, and frequented "dollar" stores. I am interested in balancing the natural world (wood, clay, shells, pine needles, lint) with these man-made objects (toothpicks, plumbing, paper clips, thread, string, rubber). I continue to focus on transforming and balancing natural and manmade materials.
